Self-Service FAQs

What is your role?

What is Self-Service?
Self-Service is the tool that allows us to interact with the College's main database (Banner). It is reached through theheart, using the Information Services Resources channel on the Home tab of theheart. Through Self-Service users can edit personal directory and emergency contact information; teaching faculty can enter grades; students can register for classes, request a transcript, or look at their financial aid packages.

Why should I become familiar Self-Service?
Earlham College faculty and students should use the features of Self-Service because that's where our academic work is conducted. Self-Service provides current, up-to-the-minute information. Faculty and students can access their class schedules. Faculty members can rely on Self-Service for their class lists - even during the Registration process and then communicate with students enrolled. Faculty members can manage information from any advisees worked with over the last 10 years. Mid-term reports are made through Self-Service and final grades are reported here. For additional assistance, contact the HelpDesk at helpdesk@earlham.edu or ext. 2000.
